Trip Dates:

Middle and High school students will have the opportunity travel to Baltimore, MD to work with Week of Hope from June 20-26.

Goals:

TO EXPERIENCE some of what it means to be a servant

TO GIVE youth a cross-cultural experience

TO ENABLE youth to grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ

TO TRAIN youth to become servant leaders

TO SERVE the children and staff in Baltimore

Because these trips are challenging, we’ve asked all interested students to complete an application. Given space limitations of 20 total attendees, those meeting the following qualifications will be invited to join the team. Priority will be given to students who submit their application early and/or are upper class high school students.

Qualifications:

Completed grades 6-12 by the summer of 2020 for the Nashville Trip
Be teachable
Be respectful and obedient toward the leaders and the rules set forth
Demonstrate an attitude of servanthood and love (no complaining)
Be willing to raise funds needed through support letters and fundraisers
Be willing to attend all training and planning meetings
Be actively involved in Student Ministry gatherings and personal spiritual growth

Necessities:

Tetanus shots must be current. For specific vaccination information, please visit: www.cdc.gov/travel
Clothing will be modest at all times. More details during training meetings.

Ministry:

On both trips, the teams will take part in work projects, and the work will vary depending on our hosts’ needs.

Costs:

Nashville - $425/person; additionally, students will need approximately $50-75 spending money. $100 non-refundable deposit due February 10; remaining $100 non-refundable deposit due March 9. Payment of $100 is due on April 6, and final payment of $125 is due on May 4. All funds raised for the student’s trip cost go toward the overall team cost and not the individual.

Application Process:

Students must complete the online 2020 Summer Trips application, sign the attached covenant, and complete the 2020 PICC Consent Form in January 2020. After completing the online application, students will be contacted to schedule an interview. Space is limited to 20 maximum, please apply early.

April 24-25 - 30 Hour Famine Service Day (All 6-12th students)

Support Team Building:

Each team member should plan to send out at least 15 letters inviting people (who are not attendees of PICC) to join the prayer and support team. Members of PICC will be addressed in a different forum.
As soon as your letter is written, please submit it to Pastor Dustin (dustin@pawleysisland.church) for approval. Once approved, please send them out as soon as possible. A sample support letter can be received from Pastor Dustin.
